To join our 2 Day Jungle Trekking Sumatra, you need at least 2 people. If you’re alone, it’s still possible with an extra fee (+1,450,000 IDR / +90€ / +105$ per booking). Private treks are available for 4 people or by paying the fare of 4. For standard bookings, other guests may join (max 6).
ITINERARY
DAY 1 ITINERARY
Start your adventure with a bright and sunny morning, enjoying a delicious breakfast at your guesthouse before your 2 day jungle trekking Sumatra experience begins. Around 9:00 AM, your guide will pick you up to start the journey. Float along a peaceful river, pass through lush rubber plantations, and hike toward the stunning entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Once you step into the dense rainforest, you’ll have the amazing chance to spot the rare Sumatran orangutans in their natural habitat. With a little luck, you might see them swinging gracefully between trees or tenderly caring for their babies. Around 4:00 PM, arrive at your campsite, situated near a waterfall or beside a serene river. Relax with a warm cup of tea or coffee and admire the natural beauty around you. Take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters before your guide prepares a hearty dinner of curry, rice, and local delicacies.
After dinner, unwind by the campfire—chat, play cards, or simply enjoy the sounds of the jungle. End the day in your sturdy tent, protected by bamboo and plastic sheets, as the soothing sounds of the rainforest lull you to sleep.
DAY 2 ITINERARY
Wake up feeling refreshed to enjoy a homemade breakfast at the heart of the pristine rainforest, ready for the second day of your 2 day jungle trekking Sumatra adventure. Breathe in the fresh jungle air and marvel at the natural surroundings.
Continue your trek for 4 to 5 hours, exploring deeper into the jungle in search of rarer wildlife, such as forest turtles, the elusive White-handed Gibbons, or the graceful Great Argus bird. TRANSPORTATION
We provide easy and comfortable airport transfers to Bukit Lawang with our private car rental service. The price is Rp700,000 for 2–4 people and Rp1,200,000 for 5–7 people. When you arrive, your driver will be waiting for you at the gate, holding a sign with your name so it’s easy to find. The trip to Bukit Lawang usually takes around 4–5 hours, and along the way you can stop for a break, grab some water, or use the restroom. For groups traveling together, we also offer a shared pick-up option where you can split the cost between passengers — a budget-friendly solution.
If you prefer, there’s also a shared tour bus service. This option is run by a trusted local transportation company in Bukit Lawang. The mini bus fits up to six passengers and runs between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The cost is Rp210,000 per person. Please make sure to arrive before 4:00 PM if you want to use this service. Sometimes there may be a short wait if other passengers are delayed, but it’s still a convenient and affordable way to reach Bukit Lawang.
